The Taino were a Native American tribe located in the Caribbean. This file (informational passage and writing assignment) helps students learn about the Taino and their day to day lives. This passage is perfect for the elementary teacher looking to supplement Indigenous Peoples Day with a focus on native peoples of what we now call Puerto Rico.
