Sound Vocabulary Cards
These vocabulary cards are used for my sound unit. The words include vibration, sound wave, echo, wavelength, frequency, pitch, amplitude, and volume. Each card contains a definition and a picture. I made these to save time because it is much easier to print them on card stock or have them paste them to an index card than to have them write out vocabulary as called for in my curriculum guide. Quiet Please! A Noise Pollution Activity
Students conduct an activity to determine the most effective way to control noise using shoe boxes and sound-absorbing materials. In groups, students will use one of 8 materials assigned by the teacher to sound-proof the inside of a shoebox. They will place a timer inside the box and test how far away the ringing can be heard, record the results, and then graph the data gathered.
