These vocabulary cards are used for my sound unit. The words include vibration, sound wave, echo, wavelength, frequency, pitch, amplitude, and volume. Each card contains a definition and a picture. I made these to save time because it is much easier to print them on card stock or have them paste them to an index card than to have them write out vocabulary as called for in my curriculum guide. National Geographic Kids Monkeys Informational Text Unit
The National Geographic Kids Monkeys unit offers extra support for students to engage deeply in this great example of informational text. This unit offers scaffolded support to hold independent readers accountable for engaging in informational text or as intervention for students who need more support. This unit can be used for classwork, interventional support groups, or for indenedent homework. The students will need a copy of the book to complete the scaffolded comprehension assignments.

Water Filter Experiment- packet
This experiment is great for understanding water filtration. We use 2 liter bottles with the bottom cut off. Students preplan in their groups what materials to use and how to place them in the upsidedown 2 liter. Once the prepare their "filtration system", I pour dirty water in and we collect it (glass baby food jars work great because you can see inside) out of the small opening at the bottom. Students then evaluate what they could improve, empty the 2 liter and try again. We compare all of the
