Parts of a Seed
Use this page to teach students the parts of a seed. Soak fresh seeds (We used lima beans) in water until they absorb water, the seed coat starts to come off, and they start to split open. Should take several hours. Students will each get their own seed and will be able to identify each part on their seed. They will tape each part of their seed to the bottom of their paper.

This is a whole group math game where each student gets a card that reads, "I have...Who has...?" The first student asks "Who has...?" The student who has the corresponding answer reads their card, "I have..." and then asks "Who has...?"

This fun activity includes a journal where students write in first person narrative format as a caterpillar follows its life cycle into a butterfly. Ordering Numbers In The Thousands Flowers
Flowers Ordering Numbers Least to Greatest Task Cards in the 1,000s has a spring theme. You may also have students order the cards from greatest to least (answer key shows least to greatest). Perfect to use with a place value unit. These cards are great for small groups, centers, rotations, or stations, giving 4 children a card and having them put themselves in order according to the card for whole group practice, early finishers, etc. There are 10 sets of task cards in all.

I used these pages to make laminated booklets so they could practice writing their facts in a fun way. The booklet includes the facts 1-12 as well as a blank page for practicing any fact or fluency competition among students to see who can fill out the page on a particular fact the fastest. I also printed a set of just the blank pages and had students make their own pages of facts and I laminated their own writing. They LOVED that their own product was

This multiplication book I made for the end of the year when we were leaning about multiplication and arrays. I had the kids draw (like an array), add, and multiply each equation. When I made the books I copied the cover on construction paper. Then I copied the set of equations and cut them in 2 and then staple on the left hand side the construction paper cover and back. This cuts down on copies. I try to copy all of the covers for the different multiples on different colored construction paper.
