Preview of Energy Webquest

Energy Webquest

In this self-directed and interactive webquest, students conduct an in-depth research exploration about energy! It starts with an overview of "energy" and the law of conservation of energy in order to build a conceptual understanding of energy and energy transformations. It then moves into exploring the different forms of energy through interactives: potential, gravitational, kinetic, chemical, electrical, mechanical, etc. It then moves into the different types of energy transfer: electrical, t

Robotics Survey

This Robotics Survey was designed to give teachers insight about the students in their robotics class or club. ***Great item to add to your teacher evaluation portfolio! This survey can be used as a pre-/post- evaluation, or a simple way to get to know where your students. For my own classes, I uploaded the questions to a survey generator online, then provided students the link. I did this at the beginning and end of the school year. This survey gave me immediate feedback on the skill

Middle School Science, Physical Science, Density Cube Inquiry Lab

In the Middle School Science [or Physical Science] Density Cube Inquiry Lab - The volume of objects can be determined either by measuring dimensions or by using the displacement method, where the water's rise indicates volume. Density, reflecting mass per unit volume, influences buoyancy: objects lighter than displaced water float, while heavier ones sink. In a lab exploring these principles, students observe how varying masses of identical-sized objects affect their densities and buoyancy, pote

Middle School Science, Physical Science, Basic Physics - Inquiry Pendulum lab

With this Pendulum lab - students explore Physical Science and Basic Physics. Using simple materials, they design experiments to unveil the impact of string length, amplitude, and mass on completing 10 periods. This hands-on activity hones their skills in isolating variables and interpreting data effectively. It uses simple materials and can be done in almost any classroom or lab. The Pendulum Lab fully editable! If you are instructing AP Chemistry, Chemistry, Physical Science, or Middle Scho

Electromagnetic Spectrum Poster Project

This is an activity for teams of students. Each team selects, draws, or is assigned one of the 7 electromagnetic wave types. They then must research and learn about their specific electromagnetic wave. There are specific areas where they must concentrate their research. After gathering their info and recording on their sheet they must assemble a poster (made on white chart paper). During construction there are specific roles for each student so the accountability for the final product is on each

Conservation of Mass Lab

The law of conservation of mass indicates that mass cannot be created nor destroyed. Using vinegar, baking soda and a sealed plastic bag, students determine the mass of the vinegar and baking soda. Students then seal the vinegar and baking soda in a plastic bag and mix the substances. Students will determine the mass before and after any reaction occurs. This lab includes a two-part procedure: open vs closed system, a list of materials, conclusion questions and an ANSWER KEY!
