In this project, students were tasked with creating/stocking their own store. Students had an opportunity to conduct research to find items to stock their store with, design a store/display, and sell/buy items from their peers. My kids had a BLAST with this one. I assigned this project to my sixth graders. They used real groceries in order to practice calculating unit price. The slides include project instructions, a sample project, and links to all printable sources. Students practiced finding the rate, unit rate, and rate unit by completing this project. Students were also asked to get creative by designing their own business card!
