In this fun game, a mashup of Dominoes and Scrabble, students are challenged to make valid binary compounds by playing "tiles" from their hand onto the game board. Students then write down the valid compounds that they have made, balanced for oxidation, and then write down the proper IUPAC name for each compound they make. Students are rewarded for more elaborate binary compounds, especially those that contain polyatomic ions. Materials needed: Tiles: craft sticks with ions written on each end
