Inequalities for SMART Students!
Smart is relative here, but this is a collection of inequalities my 8th graders had trouble with the first time around. I used the PowerPoint on the SMART BOARD and had students come to the board and solve and graph each inequality. I gave students Smartie candies to eat as they went along. Decimal Discounts and the Smart Board
Decimal Discounts using the Smart Board is one I developed to get materials for a sixth grader not understanding the concept. You will have five items a student might buy that involve using an original price and a decimal discount. Students are asked to find the amount of savings as well as new price. This activity could be used for small group instruction or in a math center. Additionally, it could be used for entire class instruction.
