TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I have taught ALL of the basic areas of science - Middle School, Physical Science, Biology, Anatomy, Chemistry, Physics & Physical Science. The majority of my career have been focused in Chemistry, Physics and Physical Science. I have also been an adjunct professor for science educators (both undergraduate and graduate level). I have also hosted many pre-service educators as interns in my own classroom.

MY TEACHING STYLE

My style varies with my classes. The students in my class as well as the content I am teaching determine my approach to the course. My style(s) include 1) inquiry-based teaching, to include many activities and lab experiments followed by small- and whole-group discussions; 2) lessons that lean toward teacher-led activities that incorporate inquiry in small increments giving me more classroom control; 3) flipped classroom approach to allow for increased teacher- student interaction time - students complete notes/vocabulary /video/etc. PRIOR to application of information in class. BASICALLY, I decide how to approach teaching content based on the needs and ability levels of my students at the time.
