TEACHING EXPERIENCE

Follow me on Instagram at @socialstudiesstars! I am in my 9th year teaching! I currently teach 6th grade social studies in a humanities setting at a large Brooklyn middle school. I am the 6th grade Grade Level Lead, and support coordination across the 6th grade team. Previously I have taught 3rd and 10th grade, at a charter school, and internationally. In addition to teaching, I coach new teachers, run the debate team, and serve on my school's Data Team and Equity Team.

MY TEACHING STYLE

I believe that all students are capable of success. I believe deeply in anti-racist pedagogy. I aim for my class to be both fun and relevant to the real world -- joyful rigor!

HONORS/AWARDS/SHINING TEACHER MOMENT

Ranked Highly Effective each year by the NYC DOE! I am also a former Fulbright Scholar.

MY OWN EDUCATIONAL HISTORY

I grew up in Minnesota and attended Northwestern University, where I studied history and political science. I completed my Master's degree at the Relay Graduate School of Education. I am also currently pursuing my doctorate in Education Leadership at NYU!
