TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I taught elementary school (K-5) ESOL for four years and high school (9-12) Spanish for six years. All of my ten years of teaching were in Clarksville, TN with the Clarksville-Montgomery County School System. We now live in the Raleigh area of North Carolina, and I prepare all of my own materials for homeschooling my two toddlers for their preschool years.

MY TEACHING STYLE

I am an extremely active and hands-on teacher. I also believe in themed units that incorporate multiple subject areas.

HONORS/AWARDS/SHINING TEACHER MOMENT

I was recognized as the Green Apple teacher in my school during the '08-'09 school year. I was also been the World Languages department chair for five years and served on my schools' leadership teams for seven of my ten years of experience.

MY OWN EDUCATIONAL HISTORY

I graduated from Berry College (Rome, GA) in December of 2005 with certifications in P-12 Spanish and P-12 ESOL. While teaching ESOL at the elementary school level, I pursued my Master's at Trevecca Nazarene University (Nashville, TN). I graduated in May of 2008 with a degree in Educational Leadership.

ADDITIONAL BIOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION

I have a three year old daughter and two year old son for whom I now prepare units of instruction.
