TEACHING EXPERIENCE

8 Years working as a primary school teacher in Newtown and Island Bay schools, Wellington, New Zealand. 12 Years working as a high school Mathematics teacher in Wellington East Girls College, New Zealand. 30 Years working voluntarily as teaching principal of Wellington Mosque madressa.

MY TEACHING STYLE

Full classroom and small group teaching of K-12 students, using a variety of standard classroom methods. Special interest in text-based comprehension and discussion. Also in resources integrating multiple curriculum areas. Development of Islamic Studies textbook material for madressa. Whole classroom and 1:1 work with Mathematics students, especially word problems and problem area explanation.
