“Your Community” Play Script and Lessons
It is time to bring drama to the classroom and teach social studies through drama! Ask any adult if they were ever in a school play and without a doubt, they will remember their participation. So, wouldn’t be a good idea to tie learning to that memorable experience?
In this packet, you will have a play script and related lessons to use with your class about community workers.
This activity emphasizes:
• memorization
• improvisation
• teamwork
• characterization
• costuming
• vocal projection
• focus and concentration
• stage movement
