Young Authors Writing and Fund-Raising Project-Based Learning
- PPTX
Description
I have found this Project-Based Learning activity to be the best way ever to get kids excited about writing and fundraise at the same time. Young authors write, edit, revise, illustrate, and publish books through the year and culminate with a BOOK SIGNING/SALE. This product includes all you need to help young authors along the path of selecting, discussing, editing, improving, revising, and illustrating their previous writing into books. It also contains several ways to reward the authors for their writing with awards, crowns, and certificates. Then you can use the editable invitations, programs, and thank-you letters to host your own sale, benefitting the cause of your choice. It is an excellent way to give students a voice and an authentic audience for their writing.

I used this program with 1st Graders, but it could also be used with Kindergartners at the end of the year as well as 2nd Graders. Teachers, students, parents, administrators, and district officials attended our event and raved about it. See their comments on the thumbnail previews.
We purchased small books to write our final copies in and easels to display them upon during the event. I have included pictures of the ones we used.
Proceeds from this store go to scholarships for new teachers. Please help me Create-It-Forward!
