Inferencing and Vocabulary for upper grades while hunting down the yeti abominable snowmonster! This is a super fun and engaging activity.
This activity has come after the success of my Searching for Sasquatch Inferencing and Vocabulary product (below). The Abominable Snowman can be played two different ways and is the perfect activity to engage your upper grade students! It's CC aligned for grades 4-7, but I've been using it with my 8th graders who have language needs and they have found it to be challenging and entertaining!
There are 24 inference cards related to the Yeti search. The entertaining theme arouses competitive interest. Higher level vocabulary is included in each inference card which encourages students to use prior knowledge and sentence cues to deduct word meaning. Definition and answer pages are included.
