Description

Some of my students outgrown the Paragraph of the Week and were ready for the next step, Writing of the Week! This PowerPoint™ version of Writing of the Week is perfect for distance learning!

This resource uses a similar format from my Paragraph of the Week products. However, the students are now expected to write 3 paragraphs (or more) with an introduction and conclusion section. ✐

This an extension product to Paragraph of the Week because it uses the same prompts that are in my Paragraph of the Week product. This product can be given to your high flying writers, while my Paragraph of the Week can be used by writers still developing mastery of paragraph writing. It is fabulous that the whole class is writing about the same topic. You will love ❤️ the differentiation you are providing.

This structured, consistent approach allows students to focus on writing skills and not the directions. Each week has the same format with a new topic. It is a 4-day format so you can send it as weekly homework or keep it in the classroom.

✏ Day 1 is gathering thoughts and ideas, then writing the introduction and first paragraph.

✏ Day 2 has the students writing the second and third paragraphs.

✏ Day 3 includes writing the conclusion. Students also reread the paragraphs to revise for organization and word choice.

✏ Day 4 allows the student to write/type the final draft and check for convention errors.

All topics are personal so your students are automatic experts on the content. There is no research to be done to complete these paragraphs. All the content comes from their personal experiences and thoughts.

This product includes...

36 descriptive prompts

a blank editable set

a completed sample

a folder with 38 individual PowerPoint™ files

⭐⭐⭐Not convinced yet? I do have a 3-week sample for you to review and use in your classroom. It is the PDFversion, not the PowerPoint™ version. Check it out by clicking the link below.⭐⭐⭐
