Writing a Play in Spanish - Creative writing activitiy in Spanish

I love teaching drama! But I can never find resources to teach playwriting in Spanish. I knew that my students would benefit from the opportunity to write a play in Spanish which is why I created this activity. I love creative writing activities, and this one fits the bill. My students have loved it over the years!

What are the benefits of this activity?

There are so many benefits to reinforcing reading skills through writing. In my own classroom, my students are always working on the same genre in both reading and writing classes. This allows me to explicitly teach students about the connection between reading and writing. I have noticed a significant growth in my own students, especially when it comes to understanding the author's purpose and craft. This is just one of the reasons why I love this playwriting activity in Spanish.

Another benefit of this activity is that students can perform their puppet shows to the class and practice their speaking skills. Elements for puppet creation are included, as well as eight different settings that students could use for their plays.
