Writing Topic Sentences Worksheet

This two page worksheet is instructive and informational and also provides opportunities for students to write sample topic sentences using a variety of methods for a hypothetical sample descriptive paragraph. For each Sample Topic Sentence there is an example modeled. (Consequently, there is no answer key, as samples are given in the text.) The worksheet ends with "Tips to follow and Traps to avoid," a compilation of caveats I have told my students over the years.
