Description
These wordless writing prompts will inspire your students to write interesting and unique stories. Perfect for creative writing prompts, this 50 slide document contains photographs of a variety of subject matter…plants, people, animals, strange scenes, and natural wonders!
I suggest displaying a photograph on your SmartBoard and inviting students to write a piece that is inspired by the photo. You may choose to direct their writing by asking them to write a fiction piece, a nonfiction piece, a personal narrative, a persuasive essay, or even something slightly different like an advertisement, brochure or flyer.
You could also use specific photos in your writing center. The possibilities for implementing this product in your class are really endless!
This writing method would be fabulous to begin using after reading the book The Mysteries of Harris Burdick, which is my all-time favorite book by Chris Van Allsburg. You may wish to give your students one sentence to go along with the photo, as Van Allsburg has done in his book!
