    Description

Writing becomes much more fun and engaging with this collection of animated PowerPoint lessons, companion practice sheets, and boom cards. This bundle includes 3 Activities to go along with each of your personal narrative writing skills for grades 3-5. VIDEO EXPLANATION HERE

Big vs Small Topic- is so helpful in making students understand the difference so they can hone in on those seed ideas to use in their writing. This activity really cements this idea for them. I came up with an activity to help guide students into understanding the concept of small moments into your student's brains so they can focus on descriptive detail rather than events. This activity is a cut -a-part activity where students cut out topic ideas and try to place them into the correct category. Before doing this activity it helps to do a mini lesson on the difference between a watermelon, slice, and seed topic. This activity can also be used as a formative assessment tool as well. Also includes 20 boom cards for digital practice and powerpoint for teacher instruction.

Writing Narrative Introductions-Includes an easy hands-on activity will guide your students to use one to four types of introduction strategies while writing personal narrative stories. The four types of narrative introductions presented: sound, talking, question, and setting. Narrative Introductions PowerPoint is an easy, no-prep, PowerPoint that will teach your students how to write an introduction for their narratives. The Powerpoint uses the word "hooks" for a strong introduction. There are four types of narrative introductions presented: sound, talking, question, and setting. Each type has an example and calls on students to create and example with a given topic as well. Boom cards give your students great examples for 4 types of introductions: Setting, Question, Sound, Talking. To reinforce understanding about narrative introductions students will be presented with 2 types. Also included are 3 instructional cards with sound to get students ready for the task cards following the introduction cards.
