    Description

Think your students aren't ready for writing journals? Think again! These preschool and kindergarten journal writing prompts make writing fun for little ones who are just getting started with writing journals! Students can respond to each prompt with a drawing or writing!

This set of preschool journal writing prompts is aligned to complement the CLI Circle Pre-K Curriculum being used by many preschool teachers in the state of Texas. The writing prompts are original but coordinate with the ten themes in the curriculum.

If you are using a different preschool curriculum, these are still easy to use and cover popular preschool topics like animals, insects, five senses, etc. This product has an entire school year of journal prompts for preschool students and makes planning your writing time easy and quick!

All of the writing journal prompts are very simple and appropriate for beginning writers in preschool or even Kindergarten. These prompts are stand-alone prompts and can be used in any order. You can read more about how to use these journal prompts in these blog posts, Getting Started with Preschool Writing Journals and Writing Workshop in the Preschool Classroom.

This set includes 225 different writing prompts to choose from. Each prompt is included in three different formats to best meet the needs of your students including:

    • Notebook Journal Prompts: These journal prompts can be printed and glued at the top of a page inside of a composition book or spiral journal. Each page has 12 copies of the same journal prompt. Just print the page and cut the prompts apart using a paper cutter!

    • Full Page Journal Writing Prompts with No Writing Lines: These journal prompt pages can be printed as is and used in a binder, folder, or just as a stand-alone writing activity. I recommend starting with these pages at the beginning of the year with preschool students, especially if they are only drawing pictures.

    • Full Page Journal Writing Prompts with Writing Lines: These journal prompt pages can be printed as is and used in a binder, folder, or just as a stand-alone writing activity. These pages have two writing lines for students who are ready to practice writing on a line.
