Description

Anxiety is on the rise with children. The book, Worry Says What by Allison Edwards, is an amazing resource to help students find power within themselves to overcome worries. This download includes fun and engaging activities that can be used after reading this book. All activities come in color and black & white versions. Download includes editable pages.

What Does the Worry Monster Do Poster:

Boy and girl versions included.

Poster to explain negative things the Worry Monster likes to do.

Student Monster Craftivity:

Students color the monster and write/draw two ways they can GROW their confidence. Students cut out the monster and fold on bold lines to make their monster grow.

What Makes the Worry Monster Grow?:

Cut out all parts of the Worry Monster. Place glue where indicated and attach together. Fold on bold lines to make worry monster grow. Monster includes 10 examples that lead to growing worries.

Grow or Shrink Card Sort:

Glue “causes the worry monster to shrink/grow” labels on their own individual sacks. Print and cut cards and place face down. Students take turns reading the statement on card and place in correct sack.

Roll It Smash It Play Doh Activity

Students take Play Doh and roll into small balls. If the statement increases worry, they smash the ball in that circle. Students can state out loud how they would change the negative statement to a positive one.

Change Your Words, Change your Mindset Worksheet

Students read the negative statements and change the statement to a positive one and write it down.
