    Engage students in active learning using map lessons! The following TEN map lessons are included with this product: The World; Roman Empires; The Rise and Spread of Islam; The Maya, Aztec, and Inca Empires; Medieval Japan; Medieval China; Medieval Africa; Medieval Europe; The Reformation; and Renaissance Italy. Get all TEN lessons for one LOW price! A description and a link to each lesson are listed below.

    This resources can be printed or accessed online with laptops, Chromebooks, tablets, or any device that supports Google Slides. The included Teacher's Guide includes access to the links that will allow you to make your own copy of the resources for use in Google Classroom/Google Drive.

    INCLUDED WITH YOUR PURCHASE:

    1. World Map Lesson and Assessment

    • Black Outline Map and Directions: The map directions are written for students to be able to follow independently and complete at their own pace. Stress to students the importance of clarity and neatness. After students complete their map, they will be ready to answer the five map questions listed below the map directions.

    • Reference Map: A full-color reference map is included. The reference map can be copied for each student, or projecting it for all students to view while completing their maps works well.

    • Map Assessment and Answer Key: The map assessment consists of eleven matching questions. Ideally, students will use their completed map when taking the assessment. An answer key is provided for easy grading.

    2. Aztec, Maya, & Inca Map Lesson and Assessment

    • Comprehensive Map Directions: Students follow the directions to correctly label and color-code specific aspects of geography and empires on their black outline map of Central and South America.

    • Black Outline Map: The included black outline map covers Central and South America. Ideally, students would use their completed map when taking the assessment.

    • Reference Map: The reference map provides a visual representation of what the finished map should look like. It can also serve as a reference for students when completing their own map.

    • Map Assessment: Students use their completed map to answer the assessment questions. The multiple choice and fill-in-the-blank questions address geography and empires.

    • Map Assessment Key: A map assessment key is provided for easy grading or use with substitute.

    3. Medieval Japan Map Lesson and Assessment

    • Black Outline Map & Directions: Students will need colored pencils to complete the map. The directions are written for students to follow independently and complete at their own pace.

    • Reference Map: The included reference map can be projected or copied for students to use as a guide when completing their map.

    • Map Assessment: The map assessment consists of ten matching questions. Ideally, students would use their map when completing the assessment.

    • Assessment Key: An answer key for the assessment is provided for easy grading or use with a substitute.

    4. Roman Empires Map Lesson and Assessment

    • Map Directions: The map directions are written for students to be able to follow independently and complete at their own pace. Students are required to identify and color code major bodies of water, the Western and Eastern Roman Empires, the two major cities: Rome and Constantinople, and complete the map key.

    • Roman Empires Black Outline Map: Students will need colored pencils to correctly complete the outline map and key.

    • Reference Map: The included reference map can be projected or copied for students to use as a guide when completing their maps.

    • Map Assessment: The map assessment requires students to identify major bodies of water, the Western and Eastern Roman Empires, and major cities. Ideally, students would use their completed map when taking the assessment.

    • Map Assessment Answer Sheet: An answer sheet is provided for students to record their responses. This is optional. Students can also use their own paper to record answers.

    • Map Assessment Key: The map assessment key is included for easy grading or use with a substitute.

    5. Medieval China Map Lesson and Assessment

    • Map Directions: The map directions are divided into three parts: oceans, seas, and rivers; deserts and mountains; and countries. The directions are written for students to able to follow independently and complete at their own pace.

    • Black Outline Map: Students will need colored pencils to complete the map and key.

    • Reference Map: The included reference map can be projected or copied for students to use as a guide when completing their map.

    • Map Assessment: The map assessment consists of ten matching questions. Ideally, students would use their completed map when taking the assessment.

    • Map Assessment Key: The map assessment key is included for easy grading or use with substitute teacher.

    6. The Rise of Islam Map Lesson and Assessment

    • Map Directions and Questions: The comprehensive map directions require students to locate and label rivers, bodies of water, cities, and the areas controlled by Islam between 632-750CE. The directions are written for students to be able to follow independently and complete at their own pace. Questions are also included for students to answer using their completed map.

    • Black Outline Map: Students will need colored pencils to complete the map and key. Ideally, students would use their completed map when taking the assessment.

    • Color Reference Map: The reference map provides a visual representation of what the finished map should look like. It can also serve as a reference for students when completing their own map.

    • Map Assessment: The assessment requires students to use their completed maps to match geographic locations relating to the spread of Islam.

    • Map Assessment Answer Sheet: An answer sheet is provided for students to record their responses. Two answer sheets fit on one page for less copying.

    • Answer Keys: An answer key is provided for the map questions and assessment.

    7. Medieval Africa Map Lesson and Assessment

    • Map Directions: The map directions are divided into three parts: geography, empires, and trade. The directions are written for students to able to follow independently and complete at their own pace.

    • Black Outline Map: Students will need colored pencils to complete the map and key.

    • Reference Map: The included reference map can be projected or copied for students to use as a guide when completing their maps.

    • Map Assessment: The map assessment consists of six fill-in-the-blank and multiple choice questions. Ideally, students would use their completed map when taking the assessment.
