Word Work: A guide for teachers of young children
Description
Teaching children how words work is crucial to teaching them how to read independently. Yet little instruction is given to TEACHERS for accomplishing this. Even with Reading Recovery training, I found this task remained mysterious.
After attending dozens of conference sessions dedicated to Word Work, I have compiled the information I gleaned into an outline. The steps are presented in sequential fashion that allows you to scaffold your students' skills. Just follow the steps and watch your little learners light up with understanding.
