As a classroom teacher, I strongly feel that skills should be reviewed on a regular basis so students stay sharp. I wasn't able to find a book that had a word problem of the day that was Common Core aligned…I didn't want my students to bother answering word problems if they weren't responsible for learning it, so I created my own.

This bundle is 11 month's worth of a spiraling math review of the Common Core State Standards for 5th grade. This document is a spiraling word problem of the day aligned to the Common Core State Standards for 5th grade. Every day there is one word problem from one of the 5 domains. Each question is labeled with the CCSS standard it addresses. No more guessing if a question is CCSS aligned! This is 5 word problems a week. That means each month your students will be completing 20 CCSS aligned word problems in addition to your normal math instruction! An answer key is also included. Upon completion of this 11 month bundle, your students will have completed an additional 220 word problems aligned to the Common Core!

August and September include a review of 4th Grade Common Core Standards.
May and June include an introduction to 6th Grade Common Core Standards.

There is also a standards checklist that you can use to record your students' results. I have also included a black and white cover page in case you want to make a monthly packet for your students ahead of time as a way to keep their papers organized. This would be a great tool for parent communication as well as a convenient way to keep data.

Convert among different-sized standard measurement units within a given measurement system (e.g., convert 5 cm to 0.05 m), and use these conversions in solving multi-step, real world problems.
Make a line plot to display a data set of measurements in fractions of a unit (1/2, 1/4, 1/8). Use operations on fractions for this grade to solve problems involving information presented in line plots. For example, given different measurements of liquid in identical beakers, find the amount of liquid each beaker would contain if the total amount in all the beakers were redistributed equally.
Recognize volume as an attribute of solid figures and understand concepts of volume measurement.
Measure volumes by counting unit cubes, using cubic cm, cubic in, cubic ft, and improvised units.
Relate volume to the operations of multiplication and addition and solve real world and mathematical problems involving volume.
