Description
Are you interested in knowing more about Native people following the Pilgrim arrival in 1620?
With a focus on Nantucket, an island 30 miles off the coast of Cape Cod, Massachusetts, I share a timeline of entries about Native people, along with the purchase of the island by European settlers. The time period is from 1602 to 1855 when the last Nantucket Native from that era died.
I also added discussion questions.
Take a look at this interesting bit of history. (6 pages)

NOTE: I'm a Mayflower and Wampanoag descendant, and a descendant of Tristram Coffin/Coffyn (1609-1681) – a Nantucket original purchaser. I lead a Mayflower descendants group, am on the Education Committee for the Mayflower Society (GSMD), and have contributed to The Mayflower Quarterly Magazine. Thus, you can tell I'm interested in this subject!
