Want a fun and engaging art project to do with your kids around Valentines Day? This mixed media "bleeding heart" project is engaging, quick and easily approachable for students on all skill levels.
In this project, students will trace a heart stencil on watercolor paper and use a straw to move around watercolor paint for their background. Using black sharpies they fill in their heart with doodles of whatever they wish.
This is a great watercolor beginner project and also gives students lots of creative freedom.
Developed for middle school grades 6-8 and high school grades 9-12.
