The questions are comprised of seven multiple choice, two short essay, fill-in-the-blank, and identification using a water cycle diagram. Answers are included.

Points are not assigned to the questions so you may choose your own values for each section. Since the test is NOT saved in PDF format, it can easily be adapted for third or fourth grade; however, this original test is appropriate for grades 5-8.

NGSSMS-ESS2-4
Develop a model to describe the cycling of water through Earth’s systems driven by energy from the sun and the force of gravity. Emphasis is on the ways water changes its state as it moves through the multiple pathways of the hydrologic cycle. Examples of models can be conceptual or physical. A quantitative understanding of the latent heats of vaporization and fusion is not assessed.
