Description
Overview
Can't take your class to Washington DC? This lesson is the solution to getting your students to our Nation's Capital without spending a dime. As tour guides, students will study various memorials, buildings, and attractions to research and present to the class in the form of a presentation. These various "tours" will bring the entire class around to the major attractions of Washington DC. This student-led, virtual class field trip will help your students learn about the major sites of our nation's Capital. Travel. Learn. Experience. Enjoy!
What's Included:
- Student instructions to help explain all aspects of the project
- A list of popular sites and memorials for students to choose from
- A grading sheet for the teacher to complete and hand back with reflections
What's Expected:
- Students will research 1 site of choice (individually or in partners)
- Research will include as much or as little as you'd like. The project includes expectations to explain Who, What, When, Where, and Why of each historic site visited
- Projects can be done in any format desired by the teacher: Paper Brochure, Google Slide Presentation, Google Docs Brochure, Google Earth, etc.
- Students will then present their field trip to the class, and listen to all the others present as well. When complete, all students will get to visit every researched site that was presented on the class wide field trip to DC!
- Just print and go! No prep and easy to incorporate for any project covering American history, civics, government, or Washington DC.
