What educators are saying
Description
Introduce your students to the dynamic and exciting world of voice over acting through this 2 week Voice Over Performance Unit. In this unit, you will walk students through a variety of different aspects of voice over acting in a fun, dynamic, and exciting way. Students will explore commercial voice overs, animation voice overs, audiobook narration, and more through a variety of activities large and small.
This unit was used with my beginning drama classes towards the beginning of the year to ease students into the art of performing in a less intimidating way than traditional performance. The unit involves no memorization and can be modified easily to help any students with anxiety about performing or leveled up for students with experience or the desire to stand on stage and perform.
In the two week unit, you will guide your students through fun and engaging activities with voice over acting through multimedia experiences and performance. This unit is filled with fun yet low-risk drama games that will make every student feel comfortable. The unit offers multiple points for reflection of their own work and the work of their peers. All will culminate in two smaller projects at the end of each week, making a movie trailer and recording a page for an audiobook.
I work primarily out of Google Docs and .pdf files. If you need Microsoft products, you can download any Google Doc or Slide as a Word or PowerPoint file by going to "File" and then "Download As."
In addition to this, please note that a few of my assignments in the unit use Flip. This is a free tool for all educators, and you can learn more about it on their website.
