What educators are saying

Yay for interactive vocabulary! My students have really internalized vocabulary this year thanks to this amazing and simple-to-use resource. They love to look back on the wall and use words from previous units!

Description

I've Never Seen Kids Get So Excited About Vocabulary Acquisition...Until Now

CAN BE USED FOR ANY CLASS OR SUBJECT THAT TEACHES VOCABULARY

My Vocabulary in Action (V.I.A.) Bulletin Board is more than just a bulletin board; it is a year-long learning tool that inspires my students daily to seek out their vocabulary words in their every day life!

Parents come to me and THANK ME for inspiring a new family game and for connecting them with their pre-teen/teenager again. They constantly find themselves excitedly asking, “Is that a VIA word?!”

My principal LOVES this vocabulary board. She is proud to show it off to potential students and families on school tours. She boasts, “Look at all of that bright evidence of student learning!”

Most of all, though, my students look forward to this ongoing activity every single year. They make games out of who can find the most vocabulary words. They play by the “rules” and compete against each other for the most points, yet they help each other out by signing a classmate’s V.I.A. sticky note so she can get a point.

Year after year this interactive bulletin board proves to be an essential learning tool for my classes. Students are PROUD of the bright burst of energy the board brings to our classroom once it’s all filled up.
They LOVE it, and I know you and your students will, too!

So, What Is It, Exactly? And What Is Included in My Download?

It is a tool to be used year long.

In this product, you will receive:
• The lesson I use to introduce the VIA idea to students
• Implementation processes and procedures
• Grading suggestions
• Set up instructions
• Bulletin Board Title options to print and display
• Director's Clapboard graphic with editable fields to personalize with your class info to display on the board

Basically, when students hear or see a vocabulary word used in their every day life, they have the opportunity to write it down (following the specific parameters included in the product package) and earn points for it (point suggestions also included in the product)!

So its focus is vocabulary acquisition, and getting kids to realize their vocabulary words are absolutely everywhere, but...

...There is also a speaking and listening component to it! Students present their findings to the class, and guidelines for how to conduct this procedure are also included!

**Students love it, and it becomes a fun, friendly competition that my students look forward to year after year. :)**
