Description
This is a great project to get students thinking about how specific ingredients and/or spices are used in cuisine from around the world. This project is divided into three parts/tasks. First, students choose a specific ingredient or spice and research to find out forms available around the world. Next, they find 5 different recipes from around the world where their chosen ingredient/spice is used, and evaluate each recipe. Students also have the option of making one or more of the recipes if they'd like or are able to. Finally, they reflect on the recipes that they have found. Assessment has been included for each task, and can be self-assessment or teacher-led. This project can be done over several days/weeks, depending on how classes are structured.
