This product contains all Common Core Reading Informational and Reading Literature Standards. Each page of this document provides the anchor standard, vertical alignment K-5, Question stems and standard vocabulary for each standard.
As teachers, we need to have an idea of what students are "supposed" to already know by the time they come to us. Vertical alignment allows for teachers to know what to build on when you begin teaching the skills that *you* are supposed to impart to them at this stage. You also need to know what they will be taught at the next stage so that you can better prepare them. You will know what areas to focus more attention to and be able to explain why certain skills are necessary for them to be familiar with for the future. This resource allows you to do that.
