Description

In this activity, students have the opportunity to research Valentine's Day, why it is celebrated, the origin, and much more! This is a great project for practicing ELA research skills or to celebrate Valentine's Day with your students with an engaging project!

Students will use their research information from their planning page to create a one pager on Valentine's Day. One pagers are meant to be artistic illustrations of information so students are encouraged to add color and images to the one pager.

What's Included:

Teacher Instructions

Research Planning Page with Guiding Questions

One Pager Instruction Page

Research One Pager Template

Teacher Grading Rubric

Extension ideas:

-Have students present their work to a small group. This will also give them the opportunity to work on their speaking and listening skills. They could each present one section of their one pager.

-Have students present their one pager to the class. You could have them present only one section of the one pager or the entire project.

-Hang the one pagers on a bulletin board or in the hallway. You can also create a gallery walk where students walk around and view all one pagers.
