Description

In this activity students will either identify fractions using shaded shapes or create their own illustration of fractions all while creating a fun holiday craft.

This download includes:

  • 3 different versions of hearts for differentiation with student directions.
  • 1 Blank template of hearts
  • wreath template

In this activity students will identify shaded parts of shapes or create their own illustrations of fractions. Students will color and cut out the hearts. They can make their own Valentine;s Day creation by gluing the hearts to the wreath template.

I have included 3 different pages along with a blank page of hearts.

-Only shapes where students need to name the shaded part

-A mix of shapes and fractions.

-Only fractions where students can illustrate their own fraction or even write equivalent fractions.

This fun Valentine's Day craft can be incorporated as a whole class activity, group or center work, or be completed independently. It can also be sent home as a math project or used as a fun assessment! The completed project would make a great classroom display on a bulletin board or classroom door.

I hope this resource proves helpful and fun in your classroom!!
