What educators are saying

I started teaching STEM Encore for K-5 in January and I absolutely love these robot activities! The students are always engaged and it helps teach coding.
My students loved doing these mazes with Ozobots. The students knew exactly what to do. They were perfect for 1st grades to understand. They are a great STEM activity. We will be doing these more often.

How I Use These In My Classroom

This is a great way to incorporate technology with curriculum. My students love using these during STEM time or centers! Easy DIY - Print & cut. I set this up in less than 30 minutes. I suggest laminating the entire mat to keep it in place & easily store it afterward. You can also leave the pieces loose and let students create their own mazes. This mat can be used with robots that can move on a floor. Program your robot with directions and allow it to move along the mat.

Standards

Count to 100 by ones and by tens.
Count to 120, starting at any number less than 120. In this range, read and write numerals and represent a number of objects with a written numeral.
10 can be thought of as a bundle of ten ones - called a “ten.”
The numbers 10, 20, 30, 40, 50, 60, 70, 80, 90 refer to one, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight, or nine tens (and 0 ones).
Add within 100, including adding a two-digit number and a one-digit number, and adding a two-digit number and a multiple of 10, using concrete models or drawings and strategies based on place value, properties of operations, and/or the relationship between addition and subtraction; relate the strategy to a written method and explain the reasoning used. Understand that in adding two-digit numbers, one adds tens and tens, ones and ones; and sometimes it is necessary to compose a ten.
