These project-based learning Valentine's Day activities will engage your 2nd, 3rd, or 4th grade students as they practice their math and writing skills in a fun and creative way. As part of this PBL task, students take on the role of bakery owners selling Valentine's Day Cookies.
Throughout the project they will:
- double, triple, and halve recipes (working with fractions)
- get their groceries (working with money)
- create a schedule for baking the cookies (working with telling time and elapsed time)
- multiply to fill orders (working with multiplication)
- put cookies on the baking sheets in columns and rows (working with arrays)
- compose process writing explaining how to decorate cookies (working with process writing)
- write descriptive paragraphs (working with descriptive writing)
- create a bar graph and analyze data (working with graphing and data analysis)
