Description

**Product updated in 2015** Same content, just a facelift with some NEW graphics!

This product was created to address Common Core State Standards L1.4a: Use sentence-level context as a clue to the meaning of a word or phrase and RI1.4: Ask and answer questions to help determine or clarify the meaning of words and phrases in text. It is geared for students in grades 1-3.

This package contains posters and 10 pages of practice, in which the students have to choose a meaning for the boldface word presented in the sentence.

*2 posters to display in your classroom
*2 pages of fill-in-the-blank activities, in which the students have to rely on the context clues
*3 pages of multiple choice questions (general high-level unknown words)
*1 activity page of feeling words (multiple choice)
*1 activity page of color words (multiple choice)
*3 pages of unknown words from other languages/cultures: French, Spanish, and British terms

By the end of this unit, your students will not only be able to figure out the meaning of the unknown words presented, but be able to identify which words in the sentence(s) gave them clues.
