Description

This problem-based learning activity contains three tasks. The first task has students write a persuasive letter to Santa Clause convincing him that they are the perfect fit to run the ugly sweater division of his elf warehouse. It comes with a graphic organizer and a rubric. The second task requires students to use math and art skills to create and budget their ugly sweater. This flexible project allows you to add or take away options. Students must make economic choices to stay on budget. It requires them to use decimal addition and subtraction. Finally, they create an advertisement for their sweater. The advertisement also comes with an optional rubric that can be used.

Includes: Candy Cane paper for writing letter and a page with each type of sweater provided.
