- PPT
Description
This is my updated U.S. Presidency (Executive Branch) chapter from my American Government introductory course at Santa Fe College (Community/Junior College) in Florida. Now that we are 'online only' due to the COVID19, I have put notations on many of the 'note fields' of the 59 power points, and there are also nine active links to videos. In the cover slide, the notes include the review sheet need to know questions that will be on the exam covering this material--as a review. This chapter looks at (1) Constitutional Powers of the President (oath, roles, cabinet), (2) Development and expansion of Executive branch in 20-21st centuries, (3) Emergency powers of the President, (4) President as Commander-in-Chief, going to war, (5) Presidential Succession, (6) the Electoral College, (7) Impeachment, and (8) the 22nd and 25th Amendments and the Presidency.
Videos include:
Slide #5 The Presidential Oath of Office (montage of various 20th-21st century American Presidents taking the oath of office CNN historical video 11 mins

Slide # 42 two videos, How the Electoral College Works each about 5 minutes

As I mentioned at the beginning, MOST of these slides are Notated (when you view them individually--not in show form) with detailed notes, I would have given as part of my face-to-face lecture material.
I hope these may help you with your 'online' or home schooling in American Government.
