Description
As I was on the hunt for resources to teach my students about turkeys, I realized that there aren't very many out there that include REAL pictures of the animal and their environment. To help my students reach the rigorous Common Core State Standards, I want to provide them with non-fiction resources that will connect them to the world around them. This is why I created this Turkey Non-Fiction pack loaded with REAL pictures of turkeys and true information about them.
Here's what's included in this turkey pack:
- Vocabulary cards (includes a word card, a definition card, and a picture card for 8 words)
- Large posters featuring real pictures of turkeys (included are turkey, wattle, tom, hen, poult)
- Informational texts about turkeys (these are great to read to your students to kick off your turkey unit, to provide students as an extension, or as non-fiction research pieces when studying November topics)
- Gobble, Gobble close read (includes one close read text, vocabulary cards specific to the text, and two close read questioning pages)
- Wild Turkey mini-close read (includes one mini close read text PERFECT for young readers and ELLs who are just beginning to get the feel for looking closely at a text, one questioning page, and text specific vocabulary cards)
- Photographs (pictures of turkeys)
- Extras (turkey writing page, exit ticket)
