Troika! A Russian Sleigh Ride, Winter Classroom and Concert, for Orff Ensemble

A crowd-pleasing and student favorite! Troika is an original work for Orff instruments intended for winter programs yet suitable for any year-round performance or instrument activity. The galloping sound of the wood block combined with the sound of the sleigh bells gives this work an undeniable feeling of winter, and its compositional style and sound is reminiscent of traditional Orff instrumental works. The piece also gives students a chance to build their mallet skills, utilizing double strokes with specified stickings indicated in the score and parts. It's bright tempo and sleigh ride feel makes it fun to play and will be a memorable highlight of any winter program!
