How to use this resource in your classroom:
Teaching students about other countries is a great way to expand their minds and help them learn about different cultures. And my favorite way to do this is with a virtual class field trip! I get my students excited by telling them we're going on a trip to Mexico. Hand each student their ticket the night before to keep in their passport book, and they will be dying to come back to school the next day!
For the "trip," I set the classroom up like the inside of an airplane by moving all the desks to one side and setting the chairs up into rows facing the board where I show the PowerPoint. Sometimes I even get a recording of the sound of a plane taking off and we pretend to fly!
Providing snacks on the "plane" is another fun way to bring your trip to life. Maybe provide a snack choice like pretzels or crackers and Sprite while you fly. Or chips and salsa!
You can create a whole unit on this and have a FIESTA at the end to celebrate!
It's also a super fun end of the year unit!
