Description

This is an activity to see how tall objects are using indirect measurement. After working the 3 problems for practice, then head outside to measure how tall the school's flagpole is.

We are using indirect measurement as an application of trig functions.

**can be used as a group project for measuring other tall items outdoor

Materials needed for activity:

• Tape Measure

• Clinometer/hypsometer

• Measuring tape

Answers to worksheet:

Example: 10 m

1. 15.5 ft

2. 19.3 m
