Description

Students need to analyze for tone and mood, but they often lack the sophisticated vocabulary required of them in standardized testing situations. This resource provides three levels of lists: a simple, alphabetical list of tone words and another of mood words (could be used as class anchor charts); the same list categorized into positive and negative categories to narrow word choices; and, a complete list with critical attributes of the sophisticated tone/word mood defined. The different lists are single page, while the lists with definitions are two pages each. These can easily be printed and placed in students' reading notebooks/journals.
