Titanic! Nonfiction Text Features & Comparing Multiple Accounts 4-8 NO PREP

Spice up your lessons with this Titanic Pack! Students practice identifying and using nonfiction text features in natural context. They'll also compare multiple accounts of survivor stories. Just like all of my other activity packs, these lessons are FUN, extremely high-interest, organized, RIGOROUS, and ready to teach today!

Your students will:

Construct an 11 page "book" in their interactive notebooks (or, there's a standalone version if you don't do notebooks) and then annotate/define the following nonfiction text features: caption, photograph, glossary, index, table of contents, visual aid, map, chart, graph, bold type print, italicized print, heading, subheading, label, diagram. Then, they'll answer comprehension questions about the book, using the features to help them answer. I even included the annotations and definitions so all the work is done for you!

Or, there's always the 4-page article option included to save paper if your students don't need the full lesson/annotations for nonfiction text features.

Next, read 3 accounts from real survivors of the Titanic and complete the 2-page comparison chart. There's two versions of this chart - one includes more scaffolding.
