"The Very Itchy Bear" rhyming words games and more!

This resource includes rhyming words game cards for four rhyming words games for "The Very Itchy Bear" by Nick Bland. These are hands-on, interactive activities that are terrific for whole class instruction, small group literacy rotations or fast finishers.

Please note that you will need a copy of the picture book to make the best use of this resource.

There are three different 'twists' in one of the rhyming words games using the "You've been bitten" flea cards for players to either lose their cards, miss a go or have another turn (this is up to the teacher which version is played).

Also included in this resource are bookmarks to promote reading (10 bookmarks per page - colour and outline). Two other bookmarks are included for recording new words learnt or being learned and a poster for reading promotion in the classroom. There are also two mazes included for fast finishers (in both colour and outline).
