The Unit Circle - Lesson, Notes, Assignment, Quiz and Test
- Zip
Description
The unit circle, when understood, helps student understand how sine, cosine and tangent of angles is calculated for angles greater than 90 degrees. It helps them understand the signs of the values, and helps them remember basic output values. It is a great way to establish a solid conceptual foundation in trigonometry for students. (Note: Students need command of the two special right triangles, the isosceles and 30 – 60 – 90 triangles. )
What you’ll get with this lesson is a zip file containing the following:
- A highly animated PowerPoint (13 slides, should take one lesson)
- An 8 – page notes document for students (can be used in conjunction with a video for a flipped classroom approach https://youtu.be/jJmEaYHpw98)
- A blank unit circle and table of values for students to fill out as an assignment
- A reference unit circle and table of values for students to use as they’re learning trigonometry
- A Unit Circle Quiz
- A Unit Circle Test
On the next slide you’ll see a preview of the notes, three screen captures of different pages. The diagrams are clear and easy to read, the text is academic, yet student friendly.
After that, be sure to play the PowerPoint to see how the animations are constructed.
