What educators are saying

I loved this pairing! This is my first time teaching film studies and this was such a cool connection to make to the Truman Show. My students found it really fascinating as well!
This resource helped me make a valuable connection for my students with this movie. My students were highly engaged throughout the film and everyone was on task during the film. I highly recommend this product! Great stuff!

Description

This product introduces the movie, The Truman Show, by recounting the key details of Plato's Allegory of the Cave. The story is adapted and condensed for the students. I have also included a video link to the EDTed Talk video that explains the allegory. The story will provide a paradigm by which to view the film for the class.

After the introduction using Plato's Allegory of the Cave, the students will then watch the film and answer 17-questions. After the film, the students are asked to make 3 specific connections to the Allegory of the Cave and the Truman Show.

The movie is available on YouTube.
