The Star Spangled Banner - Common Core Close Read Activity w key and audio

This twelve slide powerpoint contains three close reading questions based on the text "The Defense of Fort McHenry" better known as "The Star Spangled Banner". All twelve slides of the powerpoint follow the student handout exactly with certain slides adding custom animations and even a “music video” for the Star Spangled Banner. For example, Slide 3 contains interactive animations that pop up to reveal key vocabulary in the poem. Slide 10 is an animated "music video" of the Star Spangled Banner" that lasts about 2:30 seconds. Other slides include the historical background information of Francis Scott Key's poem "The Defense of Fort McHenry” and how it eventually became the national anthem. Finally the original four verse poem is presented in its entirety.
